Roadkill
It was a most depressing day yesterday. I saw a cat die. It was run over by a taxi turning into a lane in between two coffee shops at Geylang. The actual accident was a hazy recollection as I was still in the car.
The sight that unfolded before my eyes caught my breath and sent shivers down the spine. It was having spasms on the spot, something like motion on a trampoline. There was blood on the road and a group of cats had gathered around.
The cat managed to struggle under a parked car at the side of the road in a brillant attempt to die with dignity. It was a heartwrenching sight to behold. The group of cats too surrounded the dead cat as though paying it their last respects. That action warmed my heart greatly in this otherwise truamatising experience.
It never hits home as hard as to how fragile life is until you actually witness death at work.
Treasure Life.
